Gathering covers the other half of the profession system: Herbalism, Mining, and Skinning. None of them consume materials to level, so the entire cost is hours spent on a route, riding or walking a loop of nodes or skinnable kills at the right level range for your current skill. That makes gathering simple in principle and slow in practice, and it only gets slower as WoW Forever's 600+ new recipes create fresh demand for materials that previously had none.
What gathering feeds into
Tauren characters get an extra wrinkle worth knowing about: a racial interaction called Cultivation lets them harvest bonus herbs without having Herbalism at all. It does not replace a real Herbalism skill for crafting purposes, but it is worth factoring in if a Tauren character is the one being leveled.
What a Gathering order can include:
- Any range to 300 - in one gathering profession, from fresh or from your current skill level.
- Route optimized to your bracket - nodes or skins worked at the density and level range that gets you skill points fastest.
- Material targets - a set quantity of a specific material, such as Torbernite or Marefoil, rather than a skill point goal.
- Paired with a crafting profession - leveled alongside the crafting skill that consumes what's gathered, so both land at a usable point together.
- Everything kept - every material, and any gold from incidental drops, stays with your character.
A gathering profession on its own is the fastest way to fund a crafting profession without buying materials off the auction house. If you already know which crafted items you're aiming for, our general Professions Boost can scope the gathering and crafting sides together as one order.

How is this different from the Crafting Boost?
This service covers Herbalism, Mining, and Skinning specifically, the three professions that produce raw materials rather than finished items. Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Enchanting, Engineering, Leatherworking, and Tailoring are covered under our Crafting Boost instead.
Can I order materials only, without leveling the skill?
Yes. If you already have the skill level you need and just want a quantity of a specific material farmed, tell us the material and amount and the order is scoped to that instead of a skill range.
Do the new materials require higher gathering skill to collect?
Skill requirements for Forever's new materials have not been fully detailed by Blizzard yet. We route orders using the best information available from beta and adjust as skill requirements are confirmed.
