Fishing Leveling
Classic-style Fishing progresses up to 300 skill. The route involves training at different skill thresholds and moving between fishing locations as you advance. The final stages include the Artisan Fishing progression and the Nat Pagle quest in Dustwallow Marsh.

Fish and Valuable Catches
Fishing can provide materials for Cooking as well as fish used by other professions. Certain fish can also be sold to other players, making Fishing useful for building a stock of materials or supporting your gold-making setup.

Fishing and Cooking
Fishing works particularly well with Cooking. A large portion of the fish collected while leveling can be turned into food, allowing you to progress both secondary professions while making use of the catches instead of selling everything.
Fishing and Camping
WoW Forever adds new Fishing-related Camping features. A Fish Bowl can be placed at a camp and provides an 8% increased stats buff to nearby players, while the Fishing Hut requires 300 Fishing and provides access to rare fish, Fishing Skill lures, and the benefits of a Fish Bowl.
Fishing and Legacy
Fishing also contributes to the Forever Legacy system. Current Legacy information includes the Luremaster perk, which can give you a chance to catch an additional fish while using an active lure. This gives Fishing progression an additional purpose beyond simply collecting fish.
